COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT SANTA MONICA AND HAMPTON INN & SUITES BY HILTON SANTA MONICA CELEBRATE THEIR OFFICIAL GRAND OPENINGS

Members of AXIS/GFA's Los Angeles team celebrate the opening of their latest hotel architecture project the Courtyard by Marriott Santa Monica and the Hampton Inn & Suites Santa Monica.

As executive architects on the project, and led by AXIS/GFA’s Los Angeles-based architectural design team, AXIS/GFA yesterday joined representatives from OTO Development and executives from Marriott Hotels and Hilton Hotels at the grand opening of two of AXIS/GFA’s latest hotel projects: the Courtyard by Marriott Santa Monica, and the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Santa Monica. Marking the end of a nearly-three-year and highly collaborative project, the opening of the two new hotels marks one of the more significant milestones in the reconceptualization of Santa Monica’s downtown core.

Paying homage to design architect Gwynne Pugh Urban Studios’ design for the two buildings, the grand opening welcomed local dignitaries, media, and project partners with an elegantly understated “coastal” theme. Joining AXIS/GFA and GP-US at the ribbon cutting were project interior designers Studio HBA, and lighting designers Illuminate.
